Parents as Teachers (PAT)

Parents as Teachers has Parent Educators who are ready to inform, support, and encourage parents of 0-5 year old children in this important role. We also offer educational services during the prenatal months. Parents as Teachers is a FREE, in home, service that is tailored to meet the specific needs of each family as it relates to the growth and development of each child.
The Parents as Teacher program will highlight
- Parent-Child Interaction – The love you have for your child and your warm, responsive interactions will support your child’s trust in this new and wonderful world.
- Development-Centered Parenting – Your parent educator will help connect those behaviors and actions to what is happening in your child’s development.
- Family Well Being – You are building a healthy, nurturing environment for your child. Your parent educator is there to broaden your knowledge as you make decisions for your child and family.

This program is funded by a grant awarded to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It is administered through joint efforts of Wellness Pointe and Community Healthcore.
